Jack Evans Harbour Case Study – Protecting Timber Assets

…Designer Decks Pty Ltd was appointed to supply, construct and oil all the carpentry works for the $8million dollar Jack Evans Harbour Boat Harbour Redevelopment in Tweed Heads, Northern NSW. This included a 2,640 square metre timber boardwalk which was located close to the water and susceptible to elements namely moisture, salt spray and high volumes of human foot traffi c. A timber sealant that bore very little environmental impact but delivered long term protection was required. Lanotec’s Timber Seal PLUS, a lanolin based, environmentally safer, non toxic timber sealant was selected by the Tweed Shire Council as the ideal product to deliver on the requirements. The addition of a merbau tint gave it a natural, timber coloured result. As a major boardwalk construction company, we were suitably impressed with Lanotec’s product and highly recommend its use on all timber asset protection projects especially those that are in highly sensitive environmental locations.
